COLNE
This must have been such a
cool skatepark the pool looks so rad
got some more killer
photos Shogo Kubo from 1979 with Stefan Harken

I love this pic he's on his Air
beam deck that had the grapic on the top wering a Dogtown Shirt and RAZ PADZ
that where made in brighton the poster on the glass is for razpadz and Baker
Boards too cool.
Even Heros fall off but they can
even manage that with style

The guy that sent me these photos
said he could do laybacks,he was bloody good at them too judging by this photo
his names Glenn and if you know him or used to skate with him you can contact
him at
here's what he had to say :I'm from Rochdale but my nearest proper park was
Colne. I use to ride there a lot, and stop the full weekend freezing my knuts
off in a sleeping bag with the rest of the motley crew Gratton, Danzi,
Harkon, etc I cant remember half the names, old age you know.

I can't believe 20 odd years have passed so
quickly. I still have a few Skate Magazines in the loft for old times sake,
Skateboarder & Thrasher magazine, however I don't really want to part with
any of them because skating was to dear to me, I will scan in anything you
want though. I still have my last board in the loft a Powel Steve Caballero with
indy's and OJ's plus my sweaty (smelly) Rector's & Pro Tec. I would
love to skate again but would probably be classed as a geek compared to what
is going on now. I'm addicted to the Extreme channel on Sky I still feel like
I'm 18. I totally agree with your comments on Shogo Kubo his style was
so fluid and laid back he didn't have to try to look cool. I wonder what he's
doing now ?
Anyway keep up the good work your site it brought
back many happy memories. Unfortunately I haven't got any more images of named
skaters only of myself and local skaters. After Colne closed we
frequented a wooden half pipe (ex Steve Gratton) in Bradford. This
was used by a lot of famous UK skaters, loud Mouthed Liverpudlian Neil
Danz & Stefan Harkon plus sidekick Trevor, Sean Goff, etc etc.
